DMR

Because he knows I play a lot with linux, my good friend ON6OO asked me to prepare his DVMEGA on a raspberry pi for him.
He handed me a box with the DVMEGA, a Raspberry Pi 2 and a Tytera md380.

This was a challenge: I never worked with DMR.

So I begun with some reading. It was not straight forward, at the time I did not find the ultime website with all the information I wanted. But after some hours of web surfing, I got the general idea. So I think :-)

Now I have a working Raspberry Pi + DVMEGA configuration. I will be explaining here what I did to configure it all.

Op vraag van een collega radioamateur, die weet dat ik heel wat met linux bezig ben, configureerde ik zijn Raspberry Pi / DVMEGA combinatie als Brandmeister hotspot.
Ik kreeg van hem een doos met een DVMEGA, Raspberry Pi 2 en een Tytera md380.

Een mooie uitdaging: ik kende nog niets van DMR.

Wat zoeken en lezen over DMR later, heb ik nu wel wat kennis over hoe het allemaal zoal werkt.

Hoe ik kwam tot een werkende hotspot met een Raspberry Pi en een DVMEGA kan je op deze pagina's volgen.

Mijn collega, maar ook ik, wonen in een dode (voor portables toch) DMR zone (regio's Aarschot - Westerlo) dus een hotspot is dé oplossing voor een portabele DMR beleving.

Uiteindelijk kwamen we tot een superdraagbare compacte batterijgevoede hotspot. Kijk maar naar het resultaat !
